Green Powered Technology (GPTech) is very pleased to announce that the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded our firm the first restricted Task Order under the Power Africa IDIQ. The De-risking Solar Homes System PAYGO in Uganda Refugee Settlements Task Order will work with USAID and the Smart Communities Coalition to launch a  market-driven program that will de-risk sales to refugee communities and prove them as viable for the pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) household solar home system (SHS) market. GPTech will implement a targeted de-risking grant window focused on Kiryandongo and Rwamwanja refugee settlements and host communities in Uganda.

GPTech’s President and CEO, Phillip Green stated, “We are very thrilled to be part of this highly innovative and multifaceted USAID program that integrates private sector engagement, market development, socio-economic support, improved energy access, and humanitarian assistance to meet USAID’s key Power Africa and development objectives in Uganda. The objectives of this project very much align with GPTech’s mission and our continued efforts to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.”
