Hoai Huynh Joins Green Powered Technology as Vice President for Emerging Markets

Green Powered Technology (GPTech) is pleased to announce that Hoai B. Huynh has joined our leadership team as our Vice President for Emerging Markets. Hoai also currently serves as the Team Leader on our Global Energy Engineering Technical Advisory Services contract with the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). He joined GPTech after almost two years in Viet Nam and Thailand as a Client Services Leader for Asia at CDM Smith. Hoai has over 24 years of environmental and energy program technical implementation and program management experience in the United States and internationally, working in the U.S. government, consulting, aerospace trade association and non-profit sectors. He has extensive experience in developing countries, particularly working with USAID, World Bank, and other clients on clean energy, climate change, environmental, and water, infrastructure programs.

Hoai has served as an international environmental manager for Europe/Eurasia at the USEPA’s Office of International Affairs, designing and managing an 11-country technical assistance portfolio on environmental and energy in the former Soviet Union countries; implemented grassroots environmental programs in the non-governmental sector in Southeast Asia and the former Soviet Union at Counterpart International; represented the U.S. aerospace and defense industries on U.S. and international environment, climate change, safety, and health compliance issues at the Aerospace Industries Association; and managed USAID and international contracts and grants on energy efficiency, low carbon development, climate change, water & sanitation, infrastructure and environmental governance, working for major consulting firms such as AECOM, ICF International, and CDM Smith.

Hoai was born in Viet Nam, having come to the United States with his family in 1975, growing up in Miami, FL. He earned a Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Engineering, both from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Hoai has also served on the Board of Directors of several non-profits working on humanitarian relief, education, and human anti-trafficking issues internationally in a volunteer capacity.
