Gwendolyn Andersen Joins Green Powered Technology as Director of Sustainable Development

Green Powered Technology (GPTech) is pleased to announce that Gwendolyn (Gwen) Andersen has joined our leadership team as Director of Sustainable Development. Gwen will maintain the technical and strategic leadership of GPTech’s Sustainable Development practice.

Gwen brings over two decades of experience in renewable and conventional energy and energy efficiency. She specializes in the policy, finance, and institutional aspects of renewable energy with a particular focus on solar, wind, and micro-hydro. She served as Power Manager for the SPEED+ project in Mozambique, building capacity of the Legal Department of the Ministério dos Recursos Minerais e Energi and the new energy regulator, ARENE, and managed the legal team working with MIREME to improve the enabling environment. She provided quality control for transaction advisory support to aid a Caribbean nation in developing a public, private partnerships to operate, maintain, and expand minigrids. In Latin America she implemented a project to train financial institutions in lending for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Her work has included designing new institutional means of sustainable rural electrification, developing guidelines for retrofitting diesel gensets with renewable energy technologies, and training in the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems.

Gwen holds an MBA in Finance and an MA in International Development from American University, and a BA in International Relations from Bryn Mawr College.
